The Haunui stallion trio of Belardo (Ire) (Lope de Vega), Iffraaj (GB) (Zafonic) and Showcasing (GB) (Oasis Dream) have entered quarantine in the UK and are set to land in New Zealand on the 15th of July with their arrival at Haunui set for the end of July.
Iffraaj and Showcasing both posted some significant results last week at Royal Ascot with a Group One winner for Iffraaj in the form of Ribchester (Ire) and a Group One performer for Showcasing in Tasleet (GB).
Iffraaj will arrive in New Zealand after a stellar year in both hemipsheres - two Derby winners in the South and a dual Group One winner in the north. Only Galileo (Ire) (Sadler's Wells) and Snitzel (Aus) (Redoute's Choice) have sired more Group One winners in 2017 so far.
Showcasing will touch down as New Zealand's leading sire of 2YO's by winners and sits fifth on the overall table. Once again he leads the way for the New Zealand stallion crop of 2011 following his success as the Champion First Season Sire in the 2014/2015 seasons and Champion Second Season Sire status last season.
The most eagerly anticipated arrival is that of our new sire for 2017, Belardo. A dual Group One winner, we would argue his credentials place him among the top of the list in terms of New Zealand's stallion class of 2017. Standing his first season at stud at Kildangan in Ireland for a fee of €15,000, Belardo has covered a book of 122 mares with his current fertility over 80% with a number of mares still yet to be scanned.
The Haunui stallions will be on farm on the 31st of July and will be available for inspection at anytime. If you would like to arrange a parade to see the Haunui stallions, please feel free to give Shannon a call - 0212 855 513 - to arrange a suitable day and time.
