BELARDO (IRE) (Lope De Vega) landed his first winner in Australia earlier this week when the David Payne-trained Tympanist (NZ) ran out an impressive winner over 1400m at Hawkesbury.
Bred by Little Avondale Stud, Tympanist was a $95,000 purchase by his trainer out of the 2020 Magic Millions Yearling Sale. He's BELARDO's fourth southern hemisphere winner so far whilst he has also sired stakes winner and Karaka Million placegetter AVONALLO (NZ) and, group performed filly Fonsalette (NZ). BELARDO has 29 winners in the Northern Hemisphere with his oldest just 3YO's including Group winners ISABELLA GILES, LULLABY MOON and ELYSIUM.
BELARDO is currently New Zealand's leading First Season Sire by winners and is also at the top of the General 2YO Sires table by winners. He is set to return to Haunui in 2021 for a fee of $10,000 + GST.
