Haunui Farm's exciting young sire RIBCHESTER (IRE) (Iffraaj) notched his third stakes winner over the weekend with his three-year-old daughter, SNOOZE N YOU LOSE making all the running to land the Listed Queen of Scots Stakes (1400m) at Musselburgh on Sunday.
The filly, having just her second start of the season for trainer Karl Burke, soon led from the barriers under jockey Sam James. She was briefly challenged a furlong out before going clear to win by two lengths.
RIBCHESTER, a two-time European Champion miler at 3YO & 4YO and Ascot’s straight mile record-holder, adds SNOOZE N YOU LOSE to his list of stakes winners which include RUTHIN and FLAMING RIB. He has enjoyed a strong start to the Northern Hemisphere flat racing season in 2022 with five stakes performers and a total of 21 winners so far, with the major racing carnivals now in full swing. Next week's meeting at Royal Ascot could see RUTHIN and FLAMING RIB add to their tallys with both 3YO's holding entries for some of the key races of the carnival.
IFFRAAJ's best son on the track, RIBCHESTER will return to Haunui Farm in 2022 for a fee of $15,000 + GST. He will be represented by five weanlings at the upcoming NZB National Weanling Sale at Karaka on June 17 from his first New Zealand crop.
