Iffraaj has developed a strong affinity with Danehill-lined mares. From just 19 foals bred on the direct Iffraaj/Danehill cross, Iffraaj has had 14 to the races for 9 winners, a further three place-getters and most importantly, 6 stakes performers including G1 winners Turn Me Loose and Chriselliam and, multiple Group Two-winner, Group One performer and, filly of the year, Fix.
Iffraaj is the product of a pedigree offering strong reinforcements of the main speed influences in the pedigree of Zafonic which are replicated in the pedigree of Pastorale. For example, Gold Bridge is present in the damline of Zafonic as the sire of Vilmorin and also as the sire of another speed influence in his damline, Denturius. Reinforcement of Gold Bridge is famously influential for speed in pedigrees, and the pedigree of Iffraaj appears as no exception.
It has been found that the reinforcement of a stallion's direct female line can be a major influence for speed and with the female line of Iffraaj descending through the same line as Nearctic, this would seem to offer plenty of scope for exploitation. A list of broodmare sires that fulfill the above criteria follows.
Iffraaj has a very strong affinity with Northern Dancer through his sons and grandsons, and in particular Danehill and his sons. This can also be said for Sadler's Wells and his sons.
