Book 1 and 2 of the Tattersall’s October Sale have been completed with the sale boasting some solid results for the first crop of two-time Champion Miler and four-time G1 winner RIBCHESTER (IRE) (Iffraaj).

The quality of RIBCHESTER's first crop yearlings was evident with US-based Bloodstock Agent Ben McElroy paying 350,000gns for Lot 425 whilst his top-priced filly fetched 185,000gns to the bid of Demi O'Bryne and from 8 lots sold, his Book 1 average was 121,375gns.

The Book 2 Sale has just completed and Demi O'Byrne was once again to the fore going to 300,000gns for Lot 853 (pictured), a RIBCHESTER filly out of Hint of Pink.  Book 2 saw 15 lots sold for RIBCHESTER with a sale average of just over 86,000gns.

Haunui Farm's Mark Chitty says, "It has been very pleasing to see how well RIBCHESTER's first crop have been received in the Northern Hemisphere and for us in the south, when you see the likes of Demi O'Byrne - who has been coming to the Southern Hemisphere and buying top yearlings for many years - prepared to pay 300,00gns for one of his yearlings, it fills you with plenty of confidence in terms of the types RIBCHESTER is leaving.  They will go to good trainers and get every opportunity and that's all you can ask for a first crop sire.

"We have seen a majority of RIBCHESTER's yearligs in New Zealand and are excited to be offering a colt by him at Karaka 2021."

RIBCHESTER is currently working his way through a solid book of mares in his first season at Haunui Farm – his third in the Southern Hemisphere. At a fee of $15,000 + GST, he represents outstanding value for New Zealand breeders.
