Racing was back in action in France this weekend and it didn’t take former Haunui Farm stallion SHOWCASING (GB) (Oasis Dream) long to get back in the limelight.
Three-year-old filly TROPBEAU (GB) (Showcasing) proved her 2YO form to be well en pointe, running out an impressive winner of the G3 Prix de la Grotte (1m), the traditional lead-up to the G1 Poule d’Essai des Pouliches, on seasonal debut last weekend. Watch the replay here.
A two-time Group winner at 2YO and third in the G1 Cheveley Park Stakes at her last start last season after encountering an interrupted passage in the run home, TROPBEAU’s time was just under two seconds faster than the colts. She is now one of the favourites for the French 1000 Guineas equivalent in just over two week’s time.
Showcasing’s final Southern Hemisphere crop are currently rising 2YO’s and given his domination of New Zealand 2YO racing since his first crop hit the track in 2015, he will be set to feature in the new season yet again.
